Around 200 Michigan TransNav employees gathered to celebrate the 25th and the 1st office Christmas party on December 7th at the Concorde Inn in Clinton Township, Michigan. The occasion marked the first party since Groupe Plastivaloire of France acquired TransNav.

As guests arrived and gathered in the dining room of the Concorde, TransNav’s CEO, Percy Vreeken took the microphone and kicked off the festivities with a joke and videos. The new owners of TransNav, the Findeling family, were present via a video introducing their family, products and their philosophy of the future with TransNav.

The new owner and patriarch of the Findeling family, Patrick explained there would be no TransNav staff or culture changes rather the new ownership will allow both companies to grow offering better customer services and technical advantages. After a brief presentation of what PVL is all about Patrick’s children Elliot, John and Venessa Findeling introduced themselves and welcomed everyone to the Groupe Plastivaloire family.

After the video, Percy held up an example of a PVL logo embroidered fleece vest that will be given to each TransNav employee as a gift from the Findelings.  He also reminded everyone that the Vreeken family would continue to be involved with the company.

Percy then thanked employees and their families for their hard work in the last year, with a special thank you to JoAnn Julian who put the evening’s event together and invited his father, Gerrit Vreeken to say a few words. The senior Mr. Vreeken spoke about the emotional decision to sell the company he started some 37 years ago but recognized the tremendous advantage to TransNav the new ownership will bring. Commercial Manager, Bill Bean and Vice President of Manufacturing, Jeff Hartwick both spoke briefly thanking their respective departments for all their hard work. Misty Miller finished off the presentation with a prayer before the dinner was served.

After everyone was well fed the gift giving began. Human Resource Generalist, Jeffery Lee handed out tickets to employees as they arrived. Winning tickets were picked from a bowl and many employees won “Paid Work Days Off,” boxes of lotto tickets, sports-themed baskets of goodies, chocolate treats, and the grand gift of a flat screen TV.

Every employee went home with hand-made chocolate “Christmas Moose” treats that matched the themed table decorations and two lucky gift winners took home Moose-themed lantern decorations. The evening was topped off with music provided by a DJ and dancing.

With another successful year celebrated the TransNav family wishes everyone a wonderful holiday season and happy new year!
